Terms, Conditions and FAQ's

Viewing:
Whilst every care has been taken to provide an accurate representation of the prints available for purchase, individual screen sizes and settings used by the viewer may cause variations in the on-screen appearance, both in colour/color and contrast. Each print is checked for colour reproduction and signing and editioning the print/s is done only when I am fully satisfied that it is an accurate reproduction of the original painting. Therefore, should you be unhappy with the print when you receive it, I will undertake to refund the purchase price to you. (See 'Returns and/or Refunds', below). To help you make an appropriate selection for your needs, I have given approximate sizes of all prints. These are given for guidance only and should not be taken as exact measurements.

Copyright:
The copyright of all images (painting & prints) contained in this site is retained by the artist (Alistair Butt © 1995-onwards). Requests for permission, to reproduce any image (or part there of) in any form (printed or electronic), or to use the work for any other purpose will be considered at the discretion of the artist and/or other copyright (part or whole) owners.

Placing an order:
When you place an order to purchase a print or prints from “alistairbutt.co.uk”, this is an offer by you to me (Alistair Butt) to purchase the item/s. I accept your order only when I send an e-mail confirming that I have dispatched the item/s in your order, a Dispatch Confirmation E-mail (via PayPal) which contains dispatch details for tracking. The contract between us is formed at that point in respect of the item/s mentioned in the Dispatch Confirmation E-mail. If your order contained a number of items and the Dispatch Confirmation E-mail mentions only part of them, each Dispatch Confirmation forms a separate binding contract. All orders should be dispatched within seven working days of receipt of your order and should be received by you within 14 working days. If you do not receive your print/s within this time please do not hesitate to contact me. See 'contact' page of this website. If there is likely to be a delay, I will notify you and offer you the option to cancel your order and receive a full refund, alternatively, I will arrange a new delivery date. All prints are checked for errors, marks etc before being dispatched and only leave in 100% perfect condition.

How do I pay for my order?
Payment is made through PayPal from your PayPal account, or if you do not have a PayPal account, by credit or debit card at no additional cost to you. When you checkout, you will be directed to PayPal’s secure sight in order to make your payment. For security reasons, we do not have, get or keep your credit or debit card information, so you will have to re-enter it each time you shop with us. I apologise for this inconvenience but it is to ensure your security. Paypal accepts all major credit cards, including, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Maestro, Switch, Solo, Delta and Visa Electron. Payment is made in UK Pounds Sterling, your own credit card company will convert any other currencies.

Delivery:
I can not ship to PO Boxes, so please provide a valid street address with your order and/or verify your address with PayPal by registering a valid Credit Card address (registered address of the card holder). You may be asked to verify your address. Postal charges are included in the price shown on the print pages. All prints are sent via Royal Mail (UK) or Airmail (other areas) and require a signature. This allows the delivery to be tracked and traced (details provided on the Dispatch Confirmation E-mail (via PayPal).

Overseas Delivery:
I welcome orders from most overseas addresses. Postage has been calculated in line with the Royal Mail’s guidance on EU and Non-EU countries and has been added to the price shown on the print pages.

EU Delivery:
EU countries include: Austria, Azores, Balearic Islands, Belgium, Corsica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Irish Republic, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Non-EU Delivery:
Non-EU countries are those that are not listed above.

Customs Information:
Local import duties may be payable to the relevant authorities before delivery can be made. You as the buyer are responsible for paying any such duties, they are not part of the delivery charges.

Returns Policy (Exchange):
If you are unhappy with the print it may be returned for exchange within 7 days of receipt provided it’s undamaged, in re-sellable condition and in the original postage packaging. You should email me (see contact page of this website for details) to notify me within 48 hours of your intention and I will provide you with the returns address. Please note I cannot be held responsible for losses on the postal system and therefore recommend you obtain proof of postage.
To cover administration and time a £5.00 charge will be incurred on all exchanges, a PayPal payment or a cheque (payable to "Alistair Butt"), to cover this charge should be enclosed with the returned item. Alternatively, I can offer you a refund, less the postal costs and a 15% restocking fee.
The exchange print will not be sent until the above payment has been received and/or no refund until the print has been returned: undamaged, in re-sellable condition and in the original postage packaging.
All prints are check for errors, marks etc before being dispatched and only leave in 100% perfect condition.
Your statutory rights are not affected. Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive (ENGLAND AND WALES).

Damaged returns:
Should the item arrive damaged, you must notify me within 48 hours of receipt. If badly damaged, please do NOT open the package. Some minor corner damage can happen in transit but the mount/mat is 25mm or 1" away from the edge of the packaging and the Limited Edition Print is 75mm or 3" away, both protected by stiff card board.
If when opened there is damage to the print inside, please keep all packaging material so that the print and mount/mat can be returned in its original packaging.
You should email me (see contact page of this website for details) to notify me of the damage and I will provide you with the returns address. Please note: I cannot be held responsible for losses on the postal system and therefore recommend you obtain proof of postage. Then upon approval, I will gladly issue an replacement or refund.

Prices:
Prices are as set out on the website and do NOT include VAT at the current rate. I and the print publishing company reserve the right to alter prices at any time. VAT is refunded to Non-EU customers, after the print has been approved. The money is repaid into your PayPal account.

Complaints:
Should you have a complaint, please email me (see 'contact' page for details). When I receive a complaint I will try to acknowledge it as soon as possible, and I expect to have it resolved to your satisfaction within as short a period as possible.
